PORTRAIT OF AUTHOR: Annik Couppié Orléac of Veronese - "Nostradamus, the usurper unmasked" - seven editions - 2011
"Nostradamus, the usurper unmasked" is a historical adventure novel whose plot is the 21st century but whose heart is rooted in the mystery of the Templar treasure. Through this novel, you follow the quest through several countries rich and endearing characters, a feast for the novice to the initiated.
This morning I met Annik his home in Virginal. Hainaut roots, it is heart-Brabant for more than 20 years. Tired after playing this weekend in a musical for four hours in which she played the queen of "Power Rangers", she nevertheless took the time to share his creative path.
Born of a violinist mother and a father "literary," she immersed since childhood in the arts. As she says herself: "My parents were very open-minded, they offered me a framework in which I could try my thirst of discovery and meeting ... My family allowed me to be me." In a savage child, running in fields, poking in caves, it retains a zest for life all that thrilled. After studying journalism, a career in modeling, in theater, singing, sculpture, she began happily in writing. "What leads my life is emotion, the meetings, I can not live in that makes me vibrate, the monotony is killing creativity in life, we must make choices and those who I am feed. "
When I asked how she came to write this novel, she delves into her past: "My grandmother wrote, she passed that passion to my father who, himself, then passed it to me . When I write, I do it my way, without trying on a "carrier", without trying to look like someone else. "
As she says, is his life story of meeting and transmission.
The story of this book is primarily the story of an encounter between Rudy Cambier, philologist and specialist in the Middle Ages. "I met him through an article on its work. From there was born a beautiful friendship, it was he who accompanied me in this long process. "
Two years will be needed to reach the end point of this book. Two years devoted to research with specialists for "having a solid foundation," to walk on his own way to meet other people, to let the characters live and grow in its history.
"I chose the novel form to make the work of Rudy accessible to as many people. Reading this novel I wanted it built on three levels: one reading available quidam, based on a novel of adventure, a second degree with references for those interested in the history of the Templars and a third whose references are only available to insiders. "This is probably what makes this fascinating book, one feels that behind the words, there is the flesh, a true research and a desire to share. And after the final ...? "I wanted to leave the end open the possibility of more ... we'll see J"
We can say that in this book, as in all his artistic choices, Annik remains true to its credo: "Take pleasure in being able to give." As for me, I wish him a lot of nice meetings, so she can send them with his enthusiasm and passion.

Preface

Eulogy of the simplicity

In his acceptance speech at the French Academy, Buffon states this astonishing phrase: The style is the man himself. Truth surprising paradox: the art is not always and everywhere artifice, convention, costume? Of course yes! But how many times - hundreds, thousands? - Have I not found that Buffon was right ...

The paradox is not where you would expect, not in art but in man: the little man is usually a little liar and the public man is a great, a huge liar. Such people who speak only to defend or speak of justice are only greedy and unfair, like politicians or trade unionists who claim the defenders of small workers bent on making large fortune, and quickly, such feature which is built a reputation for charming Kindness is, without cameras and microphones, a very bad hack, and as Don Juan whispers "All my life I never met a woman like you" to that just let him know by complaining of her man that she wants to go, undressed, a couple of hours in the presence of this semi-professional surreptitious kiss. The artists also do this.

But the art of writing is different in that Buffon was well received: read carefully - very carefully - any work of writing the book be intimate of scribblers. I'll give you an example that is the exact opposite of Annik: If you read the novels of Mauriac, you understand that the author, which affects the sanctity formal and displays, is a disaster bustles infected almost all the vices that Satan, in his malice, created.

There is a very long time I know Annik. Two images to show it to you: Annik, in the sea to Cuba, taming the dolphins to the point of getting them to come and caress, and Annik, somewhere in Africa, managing to take a lion cub and papouiller beside the lioness that monitors and within range of a fatal scratch! So who is this woman of strong character out of the ordinary. Through means-simple - no words, no gestures - it conquers the mind of sentient beings by talking with the language of his heart only: goodness, kindness, generosity and simplicity.

Annik's style is just that: no effect free, no "have you seen me write," not these collections of tips and tricks taught in the schools writing American and others not, just simplicity. The pedants, I know in advance, this way to denigrate the sentences. So I will respond in advance to the contemptuous malice they have not yet said. I am an old man of the earth and my style is a reflection of the earth, sometimes dry as a desert, sometimes gay as a lark, sometimes sharp and attentive like wolves on the hunt, sometimes complex as a molecule DNA, sometimes calm as a pond edge. My style is earthy, that of Annik, it is stellar in that his books are composed solely of an accumulation of light atoms, and then all of a sudden, we see that it shines like a star.
But only the wise can see the stars ...

It remains to thank Annik have tapped into my work part of the plot of his novel for this story I discovered the true story of rescue of the Knights Templar engineered by the prior of the abbey Cistercian Cambron, is so amazing and so beautiful it deserves to become a legend.

His characters move in the 21st century with a legacy that has come seven centuries without being discovered.

She chose a brilliant approach this difficult subject under the yoke of the detective novel often tinged with love and tenderness, our greatest joy.

These are promised a hero for promising to hide the secret of the Templars of Flanders, so that the enemies are not always present possession for destructive purposes.

It is led from one end to another of the novel at breakneck speed in different countries around the world via Paris or Belgium, the beginning of this adventure. Friendships are made and unmade, love comes and goes without some of the characters may not only be masters.
