PORTRAIT OF AUTHOR: Annik Couppié Orléac of Veronese - "Nostradamus, the usurper unmasked" - seven editions - 2011
"Nostradamus, the usurper unmasked" is a historical adventure novel whose plot is the 21st century but whose heart is rooted in the mystery of the Templar treasure. Through this novel, you follow the quest through several countries rich and endearing characters, a feast for the novice to the initiated.
This morning I met Annik his home in Virginal. Hainaut roots, it is heart-Brabant for more than 20 years. Tired after playing this weekend in a musical for four hours in which she played the queen of "Power Rangers", she nevertheless took the time to share his creative path.
Born of a violinist mother and a father "literary," she immersed since childhood in the arts. As she says herself: "My parents were very open-minded, they offered me a framework in which I could try my thirst of discovery and meeting ... My family allowed me to be me." In a savage child, running in fields, poking in caves, it retains a zest for life all that thrilled. After studying journalism, a career in modeling, in theater, singing, sculpture, she began happily in writing. "What leads my life is emotion, the meetings, I can not live in that makes me vibrate, the monotony is killing creativity in life, we must make choices and those who I am feed. "
When I asked how she came to write this novel, she delves into her past: "My grandmother wrote, she passed that passion to my father who, himself, then passed it to me . When I write, I do it my way, without trying on a "carrier", without trying to look like someone else. "
As she says, is his life story of meeting and transmission.
The story of this book is primarily the story of an encounter between Rudy Cambier, philologist and specialist in the Middle Ages. "I met him through an article on its work. From there was born a beautiful friendship, it was he who accompanied me in this long process. "
Two years will be needed to reach the end point of this book. Two years devoted to research with specialists for "having a solid foundation," to walk on his own way to meet other people, to let the characters live and grow in its history.
"I chose the novel form to make the work of Rudy accessible to as many people. Reading this novel I wanted it built on three levels: one reading available quidam, based on a novel of adventure, a second degree with references for those interested in the history of the Templars and a third whose references are only available to insiders. "This is probably what makes this fascinating book, one feels that behind the words, there is the flesh, a true research and a desire to share. And after the final ...? "I wanted to leave the end open the possibility of more ... we'll see J"
We can say that in this book, as in all his artistic choices, Annik remains true to its credo: "Take pleasure in being able to give." As for me, I wish him a lot of nice meetings, so she can send them with his enthusiasm and passion.
